FSIS issues a public health alert

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for Perdue frozen ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken breast gluten-free tenders that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically small pieces of blue plastic.

The products subject to the public health alert are:

  • 14-oz. packages containing four individually wrapped 6.4-oz. tenders with the lot code 2274 and "best if used by" date of July 25, 2023

These products were produced on July 12, 2022, and were shipped to retail locations nationwide. FSIS is concerned that some of these products may still be in consumers' freezers.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions about the recall should contact Perdue at 1-833-234-8964.

FSIS is continuing to investigate this matter and will provide updates as they become available.
