Ella Toone Inspires United to Victory
Manchester United Women Dominate Everton
Toone Scores a Brace in United's 4-1 Win
Manchester, England - Manchester United Women continued their impressive form with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Everton at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday. England international Ella Toone starred for the Red Devils, finding the net twice in a dominant display.
United took control of the game from the outset, pressing high and creating numerous chances. Toone opened the scoring in the 25th minute, finishing coolly after a well-worked move involving Ella Toone and Leah Galton. Just before halftime, she doubled her tally with a stunning free-kick that curled over the wall and into the top corner.
The second half saw United continue to dominate, with Alessia Russo scoring a third goal in the 55th minute. Everton pulled one back through Jess Park, but United's defense held firm to secure the three points. In the dying minutes, Rachel Daly added a fourth goal to seal the emphatic victory.
"The game was always under control," said manager Marc Skinner after the match. "We played with great intensity and executed our game plan perfectly. Ella Toone was outstanding today, and her goals were sensational."
With the win, United climbed to second place in the Women's Super League standings, just one point behind leaders Arsenal. They will look to maintain their momentum when they host Chelsea in their next match on April 2.
