Shelley Duvall to Make Acting Comeback in 'The Forest Hills'

After Two Decades Away, Duvall Returns to the Screen

Shelley Duvall, the enigmatic actress best known for her role in Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," is set to make her acting comeback in the upcoming film "The Forest Hills." Duvall last appeared on screen in 2002's "Manna From Heaven," making her return after a hiatus of two decades.

Duvall's Comeback Role

In "The Forest Hills," Duvall will play a supporting role alongside Edward Asner and Dee Wallace. The film follows a group of elderly residents living in a retirement home who decide to take a road trip to a remote mountain cabin. Little do they know that supernatural forces await them.

The film is directed by Scott Gold and Rebecca Gold, and is set to release later this year.

Duvall's Journey

Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1949, Duvall first rose to prominence in the 1970s for her unconventional beauty and eccentric personality. She starred in numerous films, including "3 Women," "Annie Hall," and "Roxanne." However, her role in "The Shining" cemented her status as a horror icon.

In the years following "The Shining," Duvall gradually retreated from the spotlight, citing mental health challenges. She made a brief appearance on "Dr. Phil" in 2016, where she discussed her struggles.

Duvall's return to acting is a testament to her resilience and passion for her craft. Fans of the actress and horror enthusiasts alike will eagerly anticipate her performance in "The Forest Hills."
