L-C Valley Hit by Second Consecutive Morning of Power Outages

Residents in the Lehigh Valley awoke to darkness for the second consecutive morning on Tuesday, as a major power outage impacted homes and businesses across the region.

The outage began at approximately 5:30 a.m., according to PPL Electric Utilities, and affected approximately 15,000 customers in Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton.

Allentown School District and Bethlehem Area School District have both announced that schools will be closed for the day.
