Barbara Pravi to Represent France at Eurovision 2021 with "Voilà"

Subheadline: French singer will perform her song at the May 22nd event in Rotterdam

More information:

Barbara Pravi has been chosen to represent France at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with her song "Voilà". The announcement was made on December 30th, 2020, by French broadcaster France 2. Pravi was selected through the national final "Eurovision France, c'est vous qui décidez!" ("Eurovision France, you decide!"). She won the competition with 204 points, ahead of runner-up Juliette Armanet with 197 points.

"Voilà" is a piano-driven ballad written by Pravi, Igit, and Lili Poe. The song is about self-acceptance and finding one's place in the world. Pravi has said that the song is very personal to her, and that she wrote it at a time when she was feeling lost and alone.

Pravi is a rising star in the French music scene. She released her debut album, "On n'enferme pas les oiseaux" ("You don't cage birds"), in 2020. The album was a critical and commercial success, and Pravi was nominated for a Victoire de la Musique (French Grammy Award) for Female Artist of the Year.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on May 22nd. Pravi will compete against 39 other countries for the top prize.
